BIODIVERSITY : UNDER THE SEA , UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA

The long-anticipated Project Ocean Awareness of University Sains Malaysia (USM) is back with the theme – “Biodiversity: Under The Sea”, which aim to bring about awareness on the diverse marina life and marine ecosystems that dwell beneath the oceans, as well as their importance to the world.

          

             This event will be held from 25^th  of April to 22^nd of May 2016. Participants in this Project Ocean Awareness USM 2016 will be able to better understand the fight for the conservation and preservation of the ocean through various interactive and fun-filled activities. The registration booth for all the activities opening from 12^th  of April on 9am until 4pm at DK Foyer of USM.

The schedule and some information of all the activities.

The activities of this big event divided into 4 sections, which are Ocean 101, Turtle Release, Get Set To Get Wet and Ocean Savers.

            Under section Ocean 101 there are some minor activities.  A talk by Professor Zulfigar Yasin titled "Life Under The Malaysian Sea" was held as the beginning of this event on 25^th  of April 2016. Professor Zulgigar Yasin’s career as a marina biologist has taken him through more than 25 years of research, teaching and administration in the USM.

Professor Zulgigar Yasin fulled his awareness talk by telling the audience the beauties of the Malaysian Seas.

                        At the same time, a Instagram Contest is carrying on until 28 of April to select lucky winners who will be going for the Turtle Release event totally free of charge on the 6^th  of May 2016. 

            The publicize of the activities done by creating a promotion video of this event and play the video around the campus to spread the information of this project to everyone in the campus. For examples, the video is played on the bus in the USM. Registration and information booth, free gifts and small games also be held to attract more participants.

Besides, all the information of the activities for the event also be promoted on the social media such as Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/projectoceanawarenessUSM/) and Instagram (http://instagram.com/poa_2016) . The information  updated every day with the latest photo and information. Such as the registration of the activities, the entrance fees, the dateline, information of the activities and so forth. Participants can also ask questions on the social page when they face any problem of understanding all the procedure or information. ///
