SENAMROBIK MEGA: A MEGA ATTRACTION

PENANG, 28 APRIL – The scorching hot evening sun did not stop hundreds of students to head to the stadium to attend Senamobik Mega, an event organised by Kampus Sejahtera of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). It was the society's biggest senamrobik event as the semester draws to an end.

The event, an effort to encourage students to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle also attracted students by stating that Continuous Student Development Program (MyCSD) points will be provided on the society’s Facebook page. There was no surprise that many students turned up for this event, as it was the last week before the accumulation of MyCSD points closes and evaluated for hostel applications.

Dancing it out: Zumba instructors full of energy despite the heat.

The event started a little later than scheduled, starting with Zumba, led by two instructors. To keep the crowd staying throughout the event, organisers announced that registration will only happen once the event is over.

Other than Zumba, participants were also exposed to modern aerobics and Body Combat which provided a variety of moves and music genres. Medical help was also provided in case any of the participants feel unwell throughout the event.

The Continuous Student Development Program (MyCSD) is a program that is specifically designed by the university to give recognition to students’ involvement through the programmes that they join during their study. These points are accumulated every semester and are used for hostel applications as well as a co-curricular transcript for when a student graduates.
